 Project updates

This project will connect the current greenway within the Wesley Heights neighborhood and the proposed Stewart Creek greenway managed by County Parks and Recreation. Private development of the Old Savona Mills site also drives the implementation of this project. The project will support the proposed Stewart Creek Greenway, the future development of the Old Savona Mills on Turner Avenue and the CityLYNX Gold Line project on West Trade Street. This project will include signage, street resurfacing, pavement markings and clear sight lines and a high visibility crosswalk.

  • To provide the residents, Johnson C. Smith University and commercial property owners with a safe road system, including pedestrian and bike amenities and access to the CityLYNX Gold Line station

  • To provide residents a pedestrian-friendly and safe route to the proposed Stewart Creek Greenway, Martin Luther King Park, the future development of Old Savona Mills and the CityLYNX Gold Line station on West Trade

  • To keep residents informed of key milestones with mailers and website updates during each phase

A series of neighborhood meetings, public meetings, stakeholder interviews and charrettes were held during the pre-planning phase for the West Trade/Rozzelles Ferry CNIP. The project team met with more than 400 residents and attended more than 60 neighborhood meetings. To view details, visit the West Trade/Rozzelles CNIP page.
