  • Brandywine Wastewater Pipe Extension and Pump Station Elimination (2113 Brandywine Drive)
    • Construction start: July 16, 2020
    • Construction completed: End of August
    • Install approximately 220 linear feet of gravity sewer in order to eliminate the Brandywine Pump Station in Matthews.
  • Bristol Farms Wastewater Pipe Extension and Pump Station Elimination (8811 Kishorn Court)
    • Construction start: July 17, 2020
    • Construction completed: end of September 2020
    • Install approximately 3,900 linear feet of gravity sewer in order to eliminate the Bristol Farms Pump Station
  • Caldwell Commons Pump Station Elimination and wastewater pipe extension
    • Construction start: April 13, 2020
    • Construction completed: end of August 2020
    • The construction area will be beside Fuda Creek between Cross Point Circle and Tory Oak Place.
  • Matthews Common Wastewater Pipe Extension and Pump Station Elimination (Tory Oak Place)
    • Construction start: January 2021
    • Construction completed: end of August 2021
    • Project Number: 824-10-570
    • The construction area will be beside Irvins Creek tributary between Cross Point Circle and Tory Oak Place.
    • Crews will tunnel under Sam Newell Road.
  • Satterwythe Pump Station Elimination and wastewater pipe extension
    • Construction start: December 2021
    • Construction completed: Early 2022
    • The construction area will be beside Fuda Creek between Satterwythe Lane and I-485.
  • Williams Station Wastewater Pipe Extension and Pump Station Elimination (2835 Williams Station Drive)
    • Construction start: July 2020
    • Construction completed: end of September 2020
    • Install approximately 800 linear feet of gravity sewer in order to eliminate the Williams Station Pump Station in Matthews.
  • Win Hollow Wastewater Pipe Extension and Pump Station Elimination (8901 Win Hollow Court)
    • Construction started: April 13, 2020
    • Construction completed: end of August 2020
    • Install approximately 4,100 linear feet of gravity sewer in order to eliminate the Win Hollow Pump Station.

What to expect:
  • Clearing – Some trees, shrubs, bushes, and other vegetation on the property will be removed. When and where possible, trees are preserved.
  • Equipment delivery and storage – Large equipment and vehicles will access the pump station property using Brandywine Drive, Kishorn Court, Win Hollow Court, and Williams Station Drive.
  • Construction traffic (excavators, dump trucks) in the easements and road right-of-way. Once the pipe is installed near your property, you may continue to see construction traffic along the easements until the pipe is tested, manholes are adjusted and restoration is complete.
  • Normal work hours: 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday through Friday

​Charlotte Water will remove the wastewater pump stations including some that were purchased from a private utility as part of the 2009 Annexation.

New wastewater pipes will flow the community's wastewater via gravity to wastewater pipes downstream. This will reduce the risk of wastewater overflows at the pump stations and protect water quality in area creeks.

​Properties directly affected by construction were contacted to discuss easement agreements. Areas near construction will be notified before construction. ​
