Park South Drive extension (ON HOLD)

Part of the Capital Investment Plan

Project phase

 Project updates

This project will extend Park South Drive as a two-lane street from Fairview Road to a new roundabout at Carnegie Boulevard and will extend the existing eastbound left-turn lane on Fairview Road. It is consistent with two recent rezoning approvals, which will build a portion of this alignment and the roundabout.

You can view the rezoning approvals in the "additional resources" area of this page.

  • To enhance the street network in the area

  • To reduce delays at other signalized intersections along Fairview Road

  • To create an additional street connection to help support the continued emergence of Southpark as a vibrant, mixed-use activity corridor

  • To provide easier access to existing commercial and new multifamily mixed-use developments in the area

  • To increase access to existing commercial and planned developments

Community engagement activities will occur throughout the project’s duration to keep those interested in the project informed and provide opportunities for the public to share ideas, opinions, and concerns. Meetings will be posted on this page once they are scheduled.

 To be determined

The Capital Investment Plan approved by City Council in 2013 calls for voters to consider approval of funding for a number of infrastructure programs. Voters approved bond financing in 2014, 2016, 2018 and 2020. For this project, City staff engages the community to determine the details of what will ultimately be built. Once these details are known, the cost of the project is estimated and published. Learn more about the Capital Investment Plan at
