Goose Creek Wastewater Extension to Fairview Road
Project phase

 Project updates

  • Project will enhance wastewater service in the region
  • Connects existing and future sewer lines along Goose Creek until it reaches Mint Hill Veterans Memorial Park

What to expect:

  • During the design phase, residents could see minor clearing activities in the area, survey stakes/flags, paint markings on the ground, and small machinery used for geotechnical borings.
  • A small number of properties have also been identified for a potential permanent easement or temporary construction easement agreement along the proposed project route. An easement allows CLTWater usage of part of a property owner's land after a legal agreement has been reached, including the right to access, maintain, clear, repair, inspect, improve, renovate and replace facilities on a property. CLTWater will work with properties owners directly to finalize the terms of the agreements.

  • After the design phase, construction will begin in the summer of 2020 and is expected to be complete in summer 2021.
  • The goal of this project is to initiate city public wastewater treatment service in an area predominantly using septic tank systems.
  • Properties that will be directly affected by construction will be contacted to discuss easement agreements. Areas near construction will be notified before construction.
