 Project updates

This project will include crosswalk enhancements at high traffic intersections. The project includes new wheelchair ramps, plaza pedestrian refuge space, and custom crosswalk striping unique to the SouthPark area.  

  • ​To support an evolving mixed-use activity center

  • To improve bicycle and pedestrian access from neighborhoods

  • To improve safety for pedestrians

  • To support economic vibrancy and a strong sense of place

  • To leverage public and private investments

  • To capitalize on strategic partnerships

The project team has aggressively solicited input from residents and businesses in the SouthPark area and surrounding neighborhoods though the following activities:

  • September 27, 2018: SouthPark all-day event at Morrison Regional Library

  • April 10, 2018: SouthPark all-day event at Morrison Regional Library

  • January 23, 2018: Public all-day event at Morrison Regional Library

  • November 27-30 - Project development workshop at Hilton Garden Inn

  • October 2017 - Online survey​

  • September 14, 2017 - CNIP kickoff meetings at Sharon Presbyterian Church

​Total bond allowance is $3.4 million. Phase 1 is $1.7 million​

​​​Please note this is the funding amount and includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
