Davidson Water Transmission Main Phase III – Extension to NC 115
Project phase

 Project updates

  • Charlotte Water (CLTWater) is working to plan and design a new water main to better serve our customers in Davidson.
  • The proposed route will generally run on the west side of N.C. Highway 115, beginning from the intersection of Main and Walnut streets and ending near the Davidson Town Limits, along NC 115.
  • Updates will be posted on this website.
What do expect
  • During the planning and design phase, residents could see minor clearing activities in the area, survey stakes/flags, paint markings on the ground, and small machinery used for geotechnical borings.
  • Road closures are not anticipated, but minor traffic control measures such as safety signage, cones and traffic drums should be expected to protect ground crews as they perform investigative work in the right-of-way.
  • The planning and design phase is expected to conclude in June 2020, with construction expected to begin shortly after.
  • The goal of this project is to provide a new large diameter water main in the area that will improve system pressures and hydraulics as well as enhance fire protection for Davidson residents.
  • During this period, it may be necessary for Charlotte Water and authorized representatives’ personnel to enter upon a limited number of residential properties to conduct surveys, examination, appraisals and other investigations for work on this project. Their activities should not inconvenience residents in any way, and ground personnel will provide notification in advance if access to private property is required.

To be determined.
