 Project updates

  • Construction began in spring 2018.
  • Work near schools will occur during summer.
  • There are no planned water outages.
  • Any unplanned water outages are considered emergencies and will be repaired as soon as possible.
  • Construction may cause temporary cloudy, discolored water or lower than usual pressure. If you experience this, please run cold water for up to 15 minutes. If water doesn't clear, please call 311 and say or select 'water emergency' for assistance.
  • Updates will be posted on this website and NextDoor.
  • Lane closures may be required daily.
  • No parking in or near the construction zone.
  • This project will be coordinated with the greenway project near Old Canal Street.

​​Charlotte Water will add more than 11,500 linear feet of water pipe to serve Davidson & Cornelius areas that are experiencing significant growth recently.​

​Properties that will be directly affected by construction will be contacted to discuss easement agreements. Areas near construction will be notified before construction. ​​
