Prosperity Village Northwest Arc thoroughfare extension phase 2

 Project updates

This two-phase project will complete the northwest section of roadway from the Prosperity Village Plan from proposed I-485 to existing Prosperity Church Road. This project has been divided into two phases and will provide a connection that will serve as an integral part of the roadway system after I-485 is built. 

Phase 1 (complete) built Benfield Road north of I-485 to Ridge Road Extension and Ridge Road Extension to Prosperity Church Road. 

Phase 2 (complete) will build the remainder of Benfield Road north of Ridge Road and provide improvements along existing Prosperity Church Road. Additionally, street and bike connections to adjacent neighborhoods will be made.  

The project limits for the Northwest Arc are from the proposed I-485 Interchange to existing Prosperity Church Road between Prosperity Ridge Road and Beaver Creek Drive.  

  • ​To provide a connection that will serve as an integral part of the roadway system after I-485 is​ built

  • To provide an east/west connection that connects Ridge Road to existing Prosperity Church Road

  • To relieve congestion of future ramps of I-485

  • To continue implementation of the Prosperity Hucks Area Plan​​

This project has received STP-DA (Surface Transportation Program – Direct Attributable) funding to pay for part of the project.  Other funding came​ from City bonds.

 

​​​Please note this is the funding amount and includes all costs associated with the project such as planning and design, acquiring the right of way, utility relocation, consultant fees, construction, signalization, permits and landscaping.
