This project will replace a 60+-year-old bridge on Michael Baker Place that spans Briar Creek. The bridge, which has reached the end of its functional life, will be replaced with a structure that will handle cars as well as pedestrians. The design includes sidewalks and an upgraded classic concrete bridge rail. Accommodations are being made to ensure there is no hindrance to the future Briar Creek Greenway.
The Michael Baker Bridge will be closed between Fairfax Drive and Runnymede Lane during construction, which is expected to start in early 2018 and last approximately six months. Traffic will be maintained using an undesignated detour route along Selwyn Avenue and Runnymede Lane.
