This 2008 neighborhood bond project will provide sidewalk, handicap-accessible ramps and storm drainage upgrades.
The area is bounded by Independence Boulevard to the northeast, railroad to the southwest, Sharon Amity to the northwest and Thermal Road to the southeast. The project comprises two phases:
Phase 1 includes sidewalks along parts of Eaglewood, McLaughlin, Pinafore, Lumarka and Peebleridge.
Phase 2 includes sidewalk along Bainbridge, Forest Way, Melba and parts of Knickerbocker and Old Post Road. Storm drainage upgrades will address flooding around the Old Post Road/Mclaughlin Drive area and the Coatbridge Lane/McLaughlin Drive intersection.
The plans were based on safety, cost, benefits, traffic analysis and an extensive public involvement process. As part of Phase 2, we will be removing a house and installing a detention pond.
