Rezoning

Rezoning. What is it?

Every parcel of land within the City's zoning jurisdiction has an assigned zoning district. Each zoning district has a specific set of zoning regulations (rules) that determine how parcels of land may be used. When a property owner is considering utilizing their property in ways that do not conform to their current zoning district regulations, they must fill out an application to change to their zoning classification. This process is commonly referred to as a rezoning.

Beginning in 2020, all rezonings will be processed, tracked, and mangaed in Accela. Accela Citizen Access (ACA) allows rezoning petitioners to apply for a rezoning and provides the public with access to rezoning petition information, processing status, and related rezoning documents. Rezoning petitions beginning with RZP-2020 and going forward can be found in Accela, as well as on this webpage.
