Victor Shaw (1949-1953)

Served as Charlotte's Mayor from 1949 to 1953.
Personal:
A Charlotte native, Shaw was a tire and battery dealer.
During his Administration:

- Bonds were approved for Ovens Auditorium and the Charlotte Coliseum (now Bojangles Coliseum) on Independence Boulevard.
- Douglas Municipal Airport was expanded.
- WBTV went on the air as the Carolinas' first television station.
