Lambeth served as Charlotte's Mayor for one term from 1931 through 1933.
Personal:
Lambeth was a Fayetteville, North Carolina native. He was a World War I Navy veteran and operated a Dodge dealership.

During his Administration:
- The U.S. Mint was dismantled and dumped in a heap in Eastover.
- The Charlotte Symphony was organized.
- Bread lines formed throughout the city during the "Great Depression."
