FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Monday, June 20, 2011
Mayor Anthony Foxx has been appointed to the United States Conference of Mayors (USCM) Advisory Board of the Executive Committee. The selection was made during the 79th Annual Meeting, which was held this past weekend in Baltimore.
“It was an honor to be nominated and I look forward to serving on the Advisory Board,” said Foxx. “It’s a confirmation of the hard work we’ve put in to promote small business issues at the national level and I look forward to doing more.”
The Executive Committee’s Advisory Board consists of mayors who are USCM members who have been active in the organization in advocating policy on Capitol Hill and to the Presidential Administration. The board also represents the nation in diversity.
The U.S. Conference of Mayors is the official nonpartisan organization of cities with populations of 30,000 or more. There are 1,210 such cities in the country today, each represented in the Conference by its chief elected official, the Mayor.
