CHARLOTTE, NC - Mayor Dan Clodfelter welcomed attendees of the ninth annual Southeast Venture Conference (SEVC) to Charlotte March 31, which brought together the largest entrepreneurship gathering in the Southeast.  
“Recognizing the robust activity in Charlotte’s high growth ecosystem, City Council approved a strategy outlining how we can support these innovators in late 2012,” said Clodfelter. “Charlotte has a budding but notable ecosystem--momentum continues to build for the innovation and high growth entrepreneur community.
Presented by TechMedia, the SEVC promoted networking and interaction ‘among the leaders of tomorrow’s economy’. The SEVC showcased companies from all technology sectors. Mayor Clodfelter discussed the impact of technology firms and innovation in Charlotte, especially in the high growth entrepreneurial sector.
The SEVC strives to support entrepreneurial activity, innovation and the resulting economic development of the Southeast, while also emphasizing the importance of capital investment to those goals.
