Mayor Dan Clodfelter read a special proclamation July 8 in celebration of the 600th restaurant opening of the Bojangles’ franchise. Clodfelter said he was excited to help the restaurant celebrate this milestone opening.
“It’s always a wonderful occasion when we can gather to celebrate the success of a business born and raised in the Queen City,” said Clodfelter. “Bojangles’ provides a great example of how a successful business can start small and grow into a major economic engine.”
The ribbon cutting ceremony for the 600th restaurant was held at the newest location on Galleria Boulevard. Clodfelter thanked Bojangles’ for their investment in the Charlotte region, especially for their charitable efforts on behalf of organizations such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, Toys for Tots and Mothers Against Drunk Driving. He also thanked them for their support of local schools.
Bojangles’ open its first restaurant in Charlotte in 1977. Today, Bojangles’ restaurants operate in ten states with two international locations.
