West Rocky River Road Shared-Use Path

Oct. 25, 2024 - This project is currently in design, during which the project team creates the detailed information needed to construct the improvement option that was selected during the planning phase. Details include plans, specifications, etc. A virtual public presentation is being prepared and will be available on the website. Details will be shared once they are determined.

Existing conditions

Project Overview

This project will construct a shared-use path along the north side of West Rocky River Road from Rockland Drive to Old Concord Road. The scope of the project will include 0.8 miles of a new 10-foot-wide concrete shared-use path with certain sections varying in width, an 8-foot-wide planting strip, driveway improvements, wheelchair ramps, concrete curb and gutter, and storm drainage along the north side of West Rocky River Road.

Project Goals

  • To provide safer walking and biking conditions for the citizens along West Rocky River Road
  • To connect the Orr Road to Rocky River Road West segment of the Cross Charlotte Trail that will run along Rockland Drive

Public Involvement

The project team will engage the public through in-person and virtual meetings, as well as project updates and postcards to residents in the project area.
