Project Overview

This project will replace a bridge on Morris Field Drive that spans the Norfolk Southern railroad tracks. The bridge, which has reached the end of its functional life, will be replaced with a structure that will handle cars as well as pedestrians. The design includes bike lanes, sidewalks and wider lanes.

Project Goals

  • To construct a bridge that accommodates multiple modes of transportation
  • To provide bike lanes and sidewalks while continuing the level of service provided along the rest of the roadway
  • To provide wider lanes or buffers to allow more separation between motorists and nonmotorists/pedestrians

Public Involvement

The following public meetings were held during the planning phase to share plans and get resident feedback. Please refer to the "project documents" are of this page for information shared at the meetings.
