Announcement : May 21, 2024 - The City of Charlotte awarded a construction contract to Cinderella Partners, Inc. to build the 16th Street Streetscape Phase 2 project. Construction will start this summer. Cinderella Partners and the City of Charlotte will make every effort to mitigate potential disruptions to traffic and utility services throughout the construction period.

25th Street Connection

Connects 25th Street over Upper Little Sugar Creek, providing a direct street connection from Brevard Street to North Davidson Street and enhance connectivity to the 25th Street LYNX Blue Line station

6th and Graham Storm Drainage Improvement Project

Storm Water Services is improving storm drainage infrastructure in the East 6th Street and North Graham Street area.

Albemarle Corridor Cultural Trail Framework

Creates a framework for the Albemarle Corridor Cultural Trail, which will involve extensive public engagement.

Announcement : July 19, 2024 - Thank you to all who took our feedback survey. The first of two public meetings were held May 14 at the Simmons YMCA. Other small group meetings are being scheduled to share information about the project and learn how residents describe the Albemarle Road area and surrounding communities. Staff will attend National Night Out on Aug. 6 and other events throughout the summer.

Albemarle Road Pedestrian Safety & Connectivity

Includes pedestrian safety and connectivity improvements in the Albemarle Road corridor between Redman Road and W.T. Harris Boulevard.

Announcement : Aug. 21, 2024 - The project team has received the next iteration of design plans and will review them over the next several weeks. Design will continue through the rest of the year.

Applied Innovation Corridor

Provides infrastructure investments to spur economic growth and facilitate recruitment of high-tech industries in the area north of Uptown.

Arrowood at Whitehall Commons Intersection

This project adds a traffic signal at the intersection of Arrowood Road and Whitehall Commons Center Drive

Announcement : September 6, 2024 - The team is wrapping up 90% plans. Real estate is expected to start within the next couple of months. The scope has been revised to only offset the northbound left turn lane to improve visibility.

Barringer Drive/West Boulevard Intersection

This project includes new accessible ramps, crosswalks, pedestrian signals, placemaking and truck aprons.

Announcement : September 7, 2023 - Construction was completed in June 2023, including the installation of landscaping.

Bayswater Storm Drainage Improvement Project

Storm Water Services is improving storm drainage infrastructure in the area bordered by Sharon Amity Road to the north, Campbell Creek to the south, Lawrence Orr Road to the east and Vernedale Road to the west.
