PRE-SUBMITTAL MEETINGS (Urban & Regular)

City of Charlotte Re-activation of Presumbittal Meetings

On Friday, March 1, staff will again be facilitating Non-Residential presubmittal meetings. These meetings will be on Friday mornings from 9:00 to noon, appointment only.

Beginning February 19, customers can schedule a meeting by visiting Accela Citizen Access and selecting Land Development Applications > Presubmittal Meetings.

There are 2 options for these meetings:

Conceptual Meeting: this is an optional meeting to discuss potential non-residential/commercial projects and land development requirements. The development idea does not need to be finalized or professionally presented but a plan or sketch plan needs to be submitted with the application. This is a 30-minute meeting. Staff will include representatives from Commercial Zoning, Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT), Stormwater, Urban Forestry, Charlotte Water and Fire.

Preliminary Design Meeting: This process is for complex or larger proposals requiring a greater level of collaboration and problem solving. A detailed submittal package is required, including a preliminary civil plan/site plan, and an agenda with agencies needing to attend the meeting with specific agency questions. A licensed professional is required to be in attendance and the owner’s attendance is preferred. This will be a 45-minute meeting. Staff will include representatives from Commercial Zoning, Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT), Stormwater, Urban Forestry, Charlotte Water and Fire.

No fee is associated with these meetings. If you have any questions, please contact Nan Peterson, nan.peterson@charlottenc.gov, or call at 704-264-9580.
