Greetings Business Community & Resource Partners:
Thank you for supporting the Ninth Annual Charlotte-Mecklenburg Crowns of Enterprise Awards that was scheduled for Thursday, May 14, 2020. The Crowns of Enterprise Awards began in May of 2012, with collaboration between Mecklenburg County and the City of Charlotte. This effort is to recognize and honor small businesses that demonstrate exemplary leadership and sound business strategies.
Although we are moving towards re-opening our community, the impacts of COVID-19 are still felt. We recognize we must do our part to help slow down the spread of the virus by adhering to the state and local governments orders prohibiting large group gatherings. As it was a difficult, joint decision, we have decided to cancel and not reschedule this year’s Awards Ceremony.
Despite this setback, we will continue to focus on our goal of acknowledging and displaying the hard work and resilient efforts of our local small businesses. These businesses illustrate the positive footprint and economic impact they have on our community. Our respective programs nurture relationship building between businesses, officials and government agencies.
We appreciate those who submitted nominations, participated on the judging panel, and the vendors that were selected in planning a successful event. We would also like to thank our resource partners and the business community for your support and participation every year! None of this would have been possible without you and your endearing support.
Again, we want to thank you for your continued support as we celebrate and cultivate minority, women, and small businesses in Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
Together we will get through this!
