Explorer Club for children aged 10-14

Parents, has your child ever expressed interest in becoming a firefighter? Are you interested in a program where your child could learn about something new and gain new experiences? Well, here is an excellent opportunity for your child. The Charlotte Fire Department and the Community Relations Committee has created the first-ever Explorer Club! The program is designed to provide children 10 – 14 years of age the opportunity to learn about the different facets of the Charlotte Fire Department and learn what it is like to be a firefighter through lessons and hands-on training. Training will include, but not limited to, first aid, CPR, rescue, fire suppression, and fire prevention. Participants will also receive lessons in leadership, conflict resolution, communication,  and personal health. Meetings will be 2-3 hours held on Saturdays, every two weeks, beginning September 26, 2020, and concluding May 29, 2021.

You can sign-up your child for the program during the open house event at the Charlotte Fire Training Academy located at 1770 Shopton Rd., Charlotte, NC 28217, on August 29, 2020 from 10:00 to 2:00.

Please register your child for the open house:
