What is CharMeck Alerts?

The CharMeck Alerts Notification system relays accurate and timely notifications of the information you want and need to know. CharMeck Alerts allows you to decide what types of alerts you would like to receive and how you would like to receive them. Alerts are geographically targeted and include options for both emergency alerts and non-emergency alerts related to your local government services. CharMeck Alerts can be received by phone calls, text messages, e-mails, and push notifications to your phone. Sign up for CharMeck Alert.

​Unsubscribe or edit account

If you would no longer like to receive CharMeck Alerts or wish to edit the method you receive them, please login to your account at CharMeck Alerts and Notification. Passwords can be reset from this page as well. You can also call 3-1-1 and request to be unsubscribed. Please note that those who are not subscribed may still receive CharMeck Alerts sent to contact numbers listed in the White and Yellow pages.

​CharMeck Alerts

CharMeck Alerts is an emergency and non-emergency alert notification system. Anyone who lives, works or travels through Mecklenburg Country is encouraged to register for the system. Registration takes approximately five (5) minutes and allows you to enter up to (5) locations within the county.

By signing up to participate in the system you are registering for emergency alerts. During the registration process you can pick and choose which additional, non-emergency, alerts you would like to register for. Non-emergency alerts range from traffic and weather alerts, to information regarding solid waste collection and special events.

​How to Register

There are four (4) ways to register for CharMeck Alerts:

1) Visit the CharMeck Alerts website and complete the registration process online. An email address is required to register using this method.

2) Download the Everbridge Contact application from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and register your device.  This method only subscribes you to emergency alerts. An email address is required to register using this method.

3) Call 3-1-1 This option is for those individuals who do not have an email address or access to a computer. .

4) E-mail CMEMO at charmeckem@charlottenc.gov to request a registration form to be mailed to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Emergency Management Office (address pre-printed on form).
