Companies located in Business Redevelopment Corridors, can apply for a variety of City programs that provide innovative tools for small businesses, property owners, and developers. Business and commercial property owners may apply for matching grants to assist with the cost of improving their properties.

Interior Upfit Improvement Grant
Economic Development Department has launched the Interior Upfit Improvement Grant as the newest component of its Business Matching Grant Program (BMPG).
The grant provides up to 50% reimbursement to commercial or industrial businesses or property owners for eligible interior renovation costs. A 60% reimbursement may be available on a case-by-case basis for utilization of a certified
Minority, Women or Small Business Enterprise (MWSBE) firms. The maximum grant award is $30,000. Qualifying businesses must be in the Business Corridor Revitalization Geography, which can be determined by searching for the business’s address on the city’s
Application deadlines for the new grant occur quarterly on Feb. 15, May 15, Aug. 15 and Nov. 15. If a deadline falls on a Saturday or Sunday, applications will be due the following Monday by close of business.
May 15, 2020, will be the first deadline for the Interior Upfit Improvement Grant.
The matching grant program also includes façade and security improvement grants. With the addition of the interior upfit grant to the suite of BMPG grants, the city is working to help provide qualifying businesses with overall revitalization.
