Boards and Commissions
The City of Charlotte has 35 boards and commissions. Residents of Mecklenburg County can volunteer to participate by applying for a vacancy. Interested residents should fill out the online application and submit it to the Office of the City Clerk. You can subscribe to receive notices of vacancies as they are posted, just click the
Notify Meicon on the right side of this page.
To complete an application, click on "Apply for a Board". Once the application is complete, click the green "Submit" button at the end of the application. Applications can be submitted at any time and are held for one year. Please note, all information provided on applications is subject to public records law and may be disseminated.

Please note: Applications submitted through this website will only be considered for City of Charlotte vacancies; this includes appointments by the City Council, the Mayor and the City Manager. Click on the gray bar below where it says "Vacancies" to view all City vacancies. City Council policy requires that vacancies for City Council appointments be advertised for four weeks prior to nominations. You can view that notice by clicking below on the box titled "View the Current Vacancy Announcement for City Council Appointments."
