Housing & Neighborhood Services works with residents to create vibrant neighborhoods and improve the quality of life for all.

This work is done through our major service areas: CharMeck311, Code Enforcement, Community Engagement, and Housing.

Community Engagement: Develops partnerships, resources and training for stronger and safer neighborhoods
Codes & Ordinances: Enforces the city's code ordinances to improve the appearance of the community and maintain standards for a lower crime rate and a higher quality of life
Housing Services: Provides resources for the development of workforce, assisted and special needs housing
CharMeck 311: Serves as a customer contact center providing information and services for customers in the city of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County

JCRT Partners with Bank of America to Train 1,500 Charlotte Youth

More than 1,500 youth are participating in the City of Charlotte’s annual Job and Career Readiness Training (JCRT), a transformative program designed to equip youths, 16-24 years old, with essential skills to navigate and excel in the workplace.

CharMeck 311

CharMeck 311 is the customer contact center for customers in the city of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County. The contact center is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents can also submit service requests online 24 hours a day. Find more information about CharMeck 311 here .
