Ted Kaplan, Chief Business and Innovation Officer
Ted Kaplan is the chief business and innovation officer of Charlotte Douglas International Airport, which is owned and operated by the City of Charlotte.
He oversees the airport's Business & Revenue Division, Economic & Community Affairs Division, and Innovation & Experience Division.
He joined the Aviation Department in 2009 and has served in such roles as senior assistant city attorney and Business & Revenue director. Before coming to work at the airport, Kaplan worked for four years as a commercial litigator for the Charlotte office of K&L Gates.
Kaplan has a Bachelor of Arts from Davidson College, a Master's in Public Administration and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
He is a certified member of the American Association of Airport Executives and a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar Association and the North Carolina Bar Association.
