No Delay to Labor Day Residential Collection Schedule

Several Solid Waste Services workers walk together down a sidewalk. The city skyline is behind them. They are all wearing bright yellow safety vests.

City of Charlotte Solid Waste Services will collect residential garbage, recycling, yard waste and bulky waste as scheduled on Monday, Sept. 2.

The city will be closed for Labor Day, but there will be no delay to residential collection services. Be sure that carts are put at the curb no later than 6 a.m. on collection day. It will be a green recycling week.

You can find your collection day by visiting the city’s property tool, My Charlotte Lookup. Simply type in your address to be reminded of what day of the week you receive service and if you are an orange or green recycling week.

Solid Waste Services offers collection updates via text. Residents who would like to receive updates regarding impacts to their collection service can text their day of service to 73224. For example, if their collection day is Thursday, they would text “Thursday” to 73224.
