New Charlotte Future 2040 Community Area Planning Workshops Announced

Charlotte, N.C. (Aug. 27, 2024) – The City of Charlotte Planning, Design & Development department is excited to announce the second series of workshops as part of the Charlotte Future 2040 Community Area Planning process. This initiative invites residents to play a pivotal role in shaping the future development of their neighborhoods.
“These workshops are a crucial part of our comprehensive planning efforts,” said Alyson Craig, Planning Director. “Collaborating with our community allows us to create plans that will guide future development and investments, ensuring they meet the diverse needs and aspirations of Charlotte’s neighborhoods.”
City Encourages Resident Participation and Feedback
The city encourages all residents to participate in this important process. A series of in-person and virtual workshops will be held, allowing community members to share their input about projects and programs that will support future development in their community. Workshop sessions will be held on:

Workshop sessions will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the following times:
- Tuesday (Virtual): 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Thursday (In-Person): 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.
As the Charlotte Future 2040 Community Area Planning process progresses, the city will continue to work closely with residents to develop draft plans for 14 geographic areas.
Along with providing feedback on the community area planning process, participants can interact with staff from multiple city departments. This engagement will offer them the chance to ask general questions and learn about planned projects and initiatives.
