Martin Luther King Jr. Day Corridor Cleanups

Published on December 19, 2024

Keep Charlotte Beautiful volunteers clean up litter on a Charlotte street. The skyline is visible behind them.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is one of only two federally recognized days of service, and we take that task to heart by encouraging volunteering in our communities to honor Dr. King’s legacy. On Jan. 20, join your neighbors and other like-minded volunteers for any of the four different cleanups happening along the Beatties Ford Road and Freedom Drive corridors.

The simultaneous service events are being put on by Keep Charlotte Beautiful (KCB); Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation; Johnson C. Smith University; and the city’s GreenPrints initiative through the Corridors of Opportunity program.

All of the cleanups are from 10 a.m. to noon on Martin Luther King Jr. Day. They are free to attend, but please register in advance so organizers can prepare sufficient supplies.
