CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Nov. 6, 2023) – As a part of “Hire a Veteran Week,” the City of Charlotte, NC Works and the NC Department of Commerce are partnering to host a Veteran Information Session and Career Fair on Tuesday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at NC Works Career Center, 8601 McAlpine Park Dr.

The city employs veterans in various career fields throughout Charlotte. During the event, attendees will hear from the city’s employee Veteran Professional Advisory Committee and how they transitioned from the military to civilian careers.

“We are proud to have veterans working in the city as a part of our diverse and talented workforce,” said Human Resources Director Sheila Simpson. “Public service is a great option for those looking to use their skills learned in the armed forces and apply it to a civilian career.”

In addition to the information session, representatives from city departments will be available provide information about career opportunities and to answer questions. A computer lab will be available on-site for those wishing to apply during the career fair.
