CMS Students Are Invited to Apply for Education to Employment Program

The City of Charlotte’s Office of Workforce Development is recruiting Charlotte-Mecklenburg School (CMS) graduating students for the next cohort of the Education to Employment (E2E) program. Introduced in 2024, E2E offers recent graduates the opportunity to apply for various entry-level city jobs with full pay and benefits after graduation.
“The city is proud to continue our E2E program and looking forward to welcoming more CMS graduates to join Team Charlotte,” says Special Assistant to the City Manager for Workforce Development Danielle Frazier. “This program is important to increasing economic opportunities for our early graduating talent to gain work experience and increase their skills while exploring their chosen career path within the City of Charlotte.”
This year, students can apply for 14 different jobs within Aviation, Charlotte Area Transit System, Charlotte Department of Transportation, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, Charlotte Water, Department of General Services or Housing & Neighborhood Services.
If selected, students will receive training, full-time pay, benefits, access to continued education resources and career coaching.
Applications to E2E are open March 10-24. To be eligible, CMS students must:
- Have a high school diploma or GED.
- Be 18 years or older by July 11.
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, a criminal background check, and DMV report.
- Complete a six-month probationary period.
Some jobs will have additional requirements.
