Mobility Safety Fest
The Charlotte Department of Transportation (CDOT)'s Vision Zero team will host the third annual Mobility Safety Fest, a community event to promote traffic safety and engage with residents and visitors. Attendees will experience interactive activities and learn more about key programs, organizations, and initiatives for Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
The City of Charlotte is committed to making our services and programs accessible to all. Upon request, auxiliary aids, written materials in alternative formats, language access and other reasonable accommodations or modifications will be provided. To make a request, please email Krystal.Bright@charlottenc.gov or call 980.301.6319.
Join us for this FREE event to:
- Receive safety information from city and county departments, as well as valued community partners.
- Learn more about important initiatives for Charlotte and Mecklenburg County.
- Experience interactive activities, like the beer goggles and virtual reality goggles, and receive free giveaways.
- Experience workshops from Trips 4 Kids; performances from local Charlotte artists such as community poets and musicians; and speakers from CDOT.
- Try food from known companies such as Jersey Mike’s and Dave’s Hot Chicken as well as some frozen custard from Shake Shack.
We look forward to seeing you at Five Points Plaza on Saturday, August 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
While registration for this event is not required, we encourage all attendees to register (for free) through our online form. By registering, we'll be able to gather a better understanding of our community and its needs.
We would also like to hear your questions and suggestions for how we can encourage everyone to travel safely while they are in our city! If you are a member of the Charlotte community and would like to volunteer to gather feedback from people who attend Safety Fest, please fill out the registration form.
For any questions about the event, please contact Cynthia Salazar, Vision Zero Community Coordinator at cynthia.salazar@charlottenc.gov or 980-451-0261.
Vision Zero is a data-driven, traffic safety initiative that focuses on eliminating serious injury and fatal crashes through community education, enforcement, and engineering projects such as crosswalks, bike lanes, and improved street lighting. It takes everyone to make streets safer. Our streets are our responsibility.
