Leave the Leaves

Next date: Thursday, October 24, 2024 | 06:00 PM to 07:30 PM

Join City of Charlotte Landscape Management and Urban Forestry's Community Tree Canopy Preservation for a workshop discussing how fall leaf cleanup relates to pollinator conservation. This workshop is for residents and landscapers eager to know more about how fall landscape maintenance practices can affect overwintering insects, and how many of our favorite pollinator species rely on fallen leaves to shelter and insulate themselves from the winter elements. We'll talk about the role of fallen leaves in a healthy environment, how they support pollinator habitat and alternatives to traditional leaf removal practices.

The workshop will take place in the education room at Landscape Management. Water and snacks will be provided.

Landscape professionals can earn 1.0 credit hour toward their Landscape Contractor's license, pending approval by the NCLCLB.

The workshop is FREE, but space is limited.

Register by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 22
