Temporary CATS Bus Detour – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade 2024

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will temporarily adjust the following routes and the CityLYNX Gold Line due to road closures for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade in Uptown on Saturday, Jan. 13.

Routes: 1, 5, 7, 8, 11, 16, 21, 22, 26, 34, 35, CityLYNX Gold Line
Where: Tryon Street between Church Street connector and Morehead Street
When: Jan. 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

In addition to bus route detours, a bus bridge will be in place on the CityLYNX Gold Line from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. between CTC and French Street stations. During this time, streetcars between CTC and Sunnyside stations will operate on a 30-minute headway.

Also of note, the CATS Call Center, Lost and Found, Pass Sales and Information offices will be closed Monday, Jan. 15, in observance of MLK Day. All CATS bus routes, LYNX Blue Line and CityLYNX Gold Line will operate on Saturday schedule on Monday, Jan. 15.
