Public Meetings on Microtransit, Conversion of Routes 97, 98, 99, 290 and Discontinuation of 47x
The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will host several public meetings to inform riders about its microtransit service, the proposed conversion of routes 97, 98, 99, 290 and the discontinuation of route 47x. These changes would occur in 2025.
Microtransit is a convenient, on-demand transit option that uses smaller vehicles to provide point-to-point trips within designated zones. Microtransit is set to replace Village Rider routes 97, 98, 99 and route 290.
Additionally, CATS is recommending the discontinuation of route 47x due to low ridership.
CATS will hold public meetings at the following locations:

- Aug. 27 from 5-7 p.m. at Huntersville Gateway Park and Ride
- 10300 Compass St., Huntersville
- Aug. 29 from 5-7 p.m. at Davidson Town Hall
- 216 South Main St., Davidson
- Sept. 3 from 5-7 p.m. at Northlake Mall at the Route 99 bus stop
- 6801 Northlake Mall Drive, Charlotte
- Sept. 5 from 5-7 p.m. at Cornelius Park and Ride
- 20300 Sefton Park Road, Cornelius
CATS personnel will ride along and conduct surveys on select bus trips to gather additional public feedback.
