CATS Excels at 2024 NCPTA Bus Roadeo

Charlotte, N.C. – (Sunday, April 7, 2024)The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork at the 2024 North Carolina Public Transportation Association (NCPTA) Bus Roadeo, held at the NCPTA annual conference. Each year, this competitive event draws the best from public transit agencies across the state, showcasing precision and expertise in various driving and operation challenges.
This year, CATS emerged as a leader in the competitions, clinching top positions in both the Paratransit and 35 Foot Bus categories.
Paratransit Roadeo Achievements:
• 1st Place Individual: Twanda Buckhalter-Reid
• 1st Place Team: Twanda Buckhalter-Reid, LaKeisha Bennett, Dorothy Campbell
35 Foot Bus Roadeo Achievements:
• 1st Place Team: Leonard Adams, Ever Martinez, Kimberly Wallace
• 4th Place Individual: Leonard Adams
• 5th Place Individual: Ever Martinez
These outstanding performances highlight the dedication and high level of training of the CATS team members. Their achievements not only reflect their personal commitment, but also CATS' overarching goal of excellence in service and safety in public transportation.
