Bus Detour due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade 2025

CATS will temporarily adjust the following routes and the Gold Line due to road closures for the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade in Uptown on Saturday, Jan. 18.

Routes: 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 14, 15, 16, 19, 21, 22, 26, 34, 35

Where: Tryon Street between 9th Street and 3rd Street; 3rd Street between Tryon Street and McDowell Street

When: Jan. 18 from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

CATS 2025 Service and Parade Detour for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is announcing the CATS Call Center, Lost and Found, Pass Sales and Information offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20 for the holiday.
All CATS bus routes, the Blue Line and the Gold Line will operate on a Saturday schedule on Monday, Jan. 20.

To prioritize the safety of riders and employees, the Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will suspend Gold Line service at 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 10, due to inclement weather.

CATS Unveils First Cultural Inclusion Bus Wrap

CATS unveiled its first cultural inclusion bus wrap during a city event this morning. The artwork, created by Charlotte artist Javon Jeter, celebrates the community’s rich diversity and cultural heritage. This bus wrap is part of CATS’ ongoing commitment to fostering belonging, unity and inclusion among all riders in the greater Mecklenburg community.

The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) will temporarily adjust the following routes due to road closures for the Duke’s Mayo Bowl fan fest and football game on Friday, Jan. 3 at Bank of America Stadium.

Where: Mint Street between Morehead Street and MLK Boulevard
When: Thursday, Jan. 2 at 9:30 a.m. until Friday, Jan. 3 at 11:30 p.m.
