University City Division - Homicide on East McCullough Drive

Case Update:  Friday, July 6, 2018,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged Jasmine Ingram, DOB: 02/16/2000 and Abagail Johnson, DOB: 06/13/2000, with the murder of Churchill Randolph Zoker, DOB: 08/08/1985.

On July 5, 2018, Ingram was arrested by CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension Team and transported to Police Headquarters where she was interviewed by detectives. At the conclusion of the interview,  Ingram was transported to the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. Ingram is charged with Murder, Attempted Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery.

On July 5, 2018, Johnson was located and arrested in Cleveland, Virginia. CMPD Homicide detectives traveled to Abingdon Regional Jail Facility in Russell County, Virginia to interview Johnson. At the conclusion of the interview, Johnson was charged with Murder, Attempted Robbery and Conspiracy to Commit Robbery. Johnson is currently being extradited from Virginia. She will be served with the warrants once in the custody of the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's office.

The third suspect in this case, Jamaal Griffin, DOB: 05/05/1985 remains outstanding. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Griffin should call 911 or the VCAT tip line at 704-336-VCAT.

Case Update:  Sunday, July 1, 2018,

The victim has been identified as Churchill Randolph Zoker, DOB: 08/08/1985.  His family has been notified of his death.  This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Saturday, June 30, 2018,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 100 block of E. McCullough Drive at the Extended Stay America.  The call for service came in at 6:02 p.m., on Saturday, June 30, 2018. 

University City Division patrol officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service on E. McCullough Drive.  Upon arrival they located a male victim with apparent gunshot wounds.  The male victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.  He was pronounced deceased a short time later at the hospital by medical staff.  The  victim's identity will be released pending family notification. 

Homicide Detectives are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident. 

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team and Operations Command responded to the scene.
