Public's assistance requested in identifying serial bank robbery suspect

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Armed Robbery Unit and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force continue to ask for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in the photographs below who is responsible for two bank robberies.

PNC Bank is now offering an additional reward of $5,000.00 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of this suspect. This reward is in addition to the Crime Stoppers’ reward.

The suspect is described as a black male, 35-40 years old, 5’ 8” – 5’ 10”, medium build, and was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and gray Nike sweatshirt. The suspect has some skin discoloration near his left eye.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department’s Armed Robbery Unit and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in the January 28, 2016, robbery of the Fifth Third Bank on Pineville-Matthews Road and the robbery of the PNC Bank, located at 7852 Arboretum Drive in the South Division that occurred this morning. 

 

On Thursday, January 28, 2016, at approximately 10:45 a.m., an unknown male suspect entered the Fifth Third Bank, located at 7530 Pineville-Matthews Road and handed an employee a note demanding money.  Once the suspect received money he then fled the scene on foot.  Please see photographs below of the suspect.

 

On Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 9:42 a.m., an unknown male suspect entered the PNC Bank, located at 7852 Arboretum Drive.  The suspect handed a bank employee a note demanding money.  Once the suspect received money he then fled the scene.  Please see photographs below of the suspect.

 

The suspect is described as a black male, 35-40 years old, 5’ 8” – 5’ 10”, medium build, and was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and gray Nike sweatshirt.  The suspect has some skin discoloration near his left eye.
