Providence Division - two suspects charged in armed robbery and shooting case

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Providence Division have charged Roy Eugene Hedman, DOB: 10/14/1995, and Tyere Grant, DOB: 09/13/1993, for their involvement in an armed robbery and shooting. 

On September 10, 2018, at approximately 1:08 a.m., Providence Division Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service in the 900 block of Charlottetown Avenue.  Upon arrival they located a male victim that had been shot in the shoulder.  The victim advised that two suspects had robbed him of his vehicle and shot him after an altercation.  The victim was transported to Carolinas Medical Center with serious injuries. 

Information and evidence gathered during the course of the investigation led detectives in identifying Hedman and Grant as suspects in this case.  Grant was located and arrested on the morning of September 10th.  He was charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, and Larceny of Motor Vehicle.   

On September 12, 2018, Hedman was located and arrested by the Violent Criminal Apprehension Team in the 100 block of Orange Street.  He has been charged with Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury, Larceny of Motor Vehicle and 2 counts of Larceny of Property.
