Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Providence Division have charged Frederick Sanders, DOB: 07/23/1972, for his role in a larceny from motor vehicle case.
On February 25, 2018, at 10:26 a.m., Providence Division Officers responded to a larceny from motor vehicle call for service at 1000 Blythe Boulevard. The victim stated that they had parked their vehicle in a parking lot and an unknown suspect entered their vehicle and took a portable paint sprayer, which was valued at $3,000. (CMPD report 20180225-1026-00).
During the investigation, Providence Division Detectives identified Frederick Sanders as the suspect in this case and signed several warrants for his arrest.
On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, Metro Division officers located Sanders at a home on Whittington Street and took him into custody. Metro Division Officers also recovered a van that was stolen on March 3, 2018, from the 800 block of McDonald Avenue (CMPD report 20180303-2059-05). Sanders was then transported to the Providence Division team office where he was interviewed by division detectives.
At the conclusion of the interview, Sanders was charged with Felony Larceny, Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Possession of Stolen Goods, and transported to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
Detectives are currently reviewing similar larceny cases and additional charges may be forthcoming.
