***UPDATE*** North Division - Homicide on Feldbank Drive

Case Update: Monday, May 7, 2018,

Homicide Detectives have identified the deceased male as Demario Ericson Roddey, DOB: 06/29/1992.  His family has been notified of his death.

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged Tamerrian Anthony, DOB: 04/19/2002. 

Information and evidence gathered during the course of the investigation led detectives in identifying Anthony as the suspect in this case.  Officers from the North Division, K9 Unit and Aviation Unit located the suspect in the area of the incident a short time after the shooting.  Anthony was detained and transported to police headquarters to be interviewed by Homicide Detectives.  Following the interview, Anthony will be charged with Murder and Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon and will be transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. 

This is an ongoing investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Monday, May 07, 2018,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation in the 9300 block of Feldbank Drive in the North Division.  The call for service came in at 2:41p.m. on Monday, May 07, 2018. 

North Division Officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call for service.  Upon arrival, officers located a male victim lying in a front yard who had an apparent gunshot wound.  The male victim was pronounced deceased on scene by Medic.  The victim's identity will be released pending family notification. 

At this time, detectives believe that an argument began between the victim and a known suspect which led to the shooting.

Detectives with the Homicide Unit are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident. 

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence. 

Representatives of the Victim Services, K9 Unit, Aviation, and Operations Command responded to the scene.
