Case Update: Monday, June 11, 2018,

The victim in this case has been identified as Adam Truesdale, DOB: 08/30/1963.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Monday, June 11, 2018,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit are conducting a homicide investigation at 1700 block of Jennings Street in the Metro Division.  The call for service came in at 10:24 p.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2018. 

Metro Division officers responded to a call for service at the 1700 block of Jennings Street which stated that an individual had been shot.  Upon arrival, officers located the male victim, who had apparent gunshot wounds.  The male was transported by MEDIC to Carolinas Medical Center – Main where he was pronounced deceased.  His identity will be released pending family notification.

The initial investigation has revealed that the victim and a second individual were in the driveway of a residence when he was shot.   

Detectives with the Homicide Unit have responded to the scene to conduct the investigation and are currently canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses to this incident. 

Crime Scene Search responded to the call for service to process the scene and collect physical evidence.  Representatives of the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Homicide Prosecution Team, Victim Services, Real Time Crime, and Operations Command responded to the scene.
