Independence Division - Two suspects charged in larceny from auto

Tuesday, March 20, 2018,

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Independence Division have charged Skyla Carfagna, DOB: 01/15/1996 and Tamiyrah McCoy, DOB: 08/17/1994, for their involvement in stealing property from a vehicle.

On Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at approximately 12:00 p.m., Independence Division Patrol Officers were flagged down by a victim who stated that someone had just broken into his vehicle.  Officers obtained a description of the suspects and immediately relayed that information to responding officers.  Within moments officers were able to locate both suspects, identified as McCoy and Carfagna, and place them under arrest.  Both suspects were transported to the Independence Division Team Office where they were interviewed by Independence Division Detectives. 

At the conclusion of the interviews, Carfagna and McCoy were charged with Felony Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor Larceny and Felony Conspiracy, and transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office.  Property stolen from the victim's vehicle was located on both suspects and returned to the victim.       

Thanks to the excellent description given by the victim and the rapid response of patrol officers, these two suspects were quickly apprehended.
