Independence Division - Suspect charged in larceny from auto

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Independence Division have charged Lamar Woodard, DOB: 09/03/1967, for his involvement in stealing property from multiple vehicles.

 

On Monday, March 19, 2018, at approximately 1:06 p.m., Independence Division Patrol Officers responded to Hendricks Automotive, located at 6030 E. Independence Boulevard, in reference to multiple larceny from vehicles (see CMPD report number 20180319-1306-03).  Upon arrival, the suspect had already fled the scene, however while officers were conducting the investigation the suspect walked back onto the property.  The suspect, identified as Woodard was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Independence Division Team Office where he was interviewed by Independence Division Detectives.

 

At the conclusion of the interviews, Woodard was charged with two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle and two counts of Misdemeanor Larceny from Motor Vehicle.  He was then transported to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff's Office. 

 

Woodard was also identified by detectives as the suspect involved in another larceny from auto incident that occurred on March 13, 2018, in the 5400 block of Monroe Road (see report number 20180313-1711-01).  He was charged with Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle and Larceny from Motor Vehicle in this case as well.
