Case Update: Friday, April 27, 2018

Detectives with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Homicide Unit have charged Richard Jordan Jr., DOB: 08/13/1979, with kidnapping and murder in connection with this case.

Information provided by the community led detectives to find the body of Alexus Alize Fraley in the 9300 block of Dixie River Road early this morning. The manner of Ms. Fraley's death is still under investigation.

A short time later, Jordan was taken into custody by CMPD's Violent Criminal Apprehension team at a home in the 8800 block of Eaglewind Drive. He has since been charged in Ms. Fraley's death and is currently being interviewed by detectives.

This is an ongoing, active investigation.  As further information develops it will be released by CMPD Public Affairs.

Anyone with information that may help detectives can call 704-432-TIPS and speak directly to a Homicide Unit Detective or Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Detective J. Dudley is the lead detective assigned to the case. Crime Stoppers offers reward money for information and does not require callers to identify themselves.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Homicide and Missing Persons units are again asking the public's assistance in locating Alexus Alize Fraley.

Anyone who has seen Ms. Fraley since Friday, April 13, 2018, is asked to call 911 immediately.

Detectives with both the CMPD Homicide and Missing Persons units are investigating this case because the circumstances of Ms. Fraley's disappearance indicate that she may be in danger.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department's Missing Person Unit is asking for the public's assistance in locating Alexus Alize Fraley.

Ms. Fraley was last seen at around 5:00 a.m. the morning of 04/13/2018 in the 8000 block of Eaglewind Drive. Ms. Fraley was last seen wearing a blue and white striped dress, tan sandals, and carrying a Kate Spade purse. Ms. Fraley has not been heard from since that morning and her family is concerned with her wellbeing.
