February Passenger Numbers Increase
April 21, 2016 - Charlotte Douglas International Airport served 3,131,765 passengers in February, a 2.5 percent rise from February 2015.
Total passenger numbers for January – February of 6,411,682, however, dipped 1 percent compared to 2015 numbers at that time. The Airport’s overall traveler numbers continue to rebound after winter storm Jonas in January resulted in a 4 percent dip.
Operations handled 84,148 aircraft movements during the combined two month period, an increase of 0.4 percent.
Cargo had a 4.5 percent jump in tonnage with 21,589 tons of cargo transported through CLT January – February of this year.
International traffic saw 355,448 fliers traveling abroad.
Nationally, CLT is ranked fifth in airport operations and ninth in passengers, according to Airports Council International’s 2015 preliminary rankings.
