City Offices Closed Friday Jan. 22
Due to severe winter weather conditions, City of Charlotte offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 22. As we are facing dangerous road conditions, residents are asked not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
A press conference on inclement weather is scheduled for 10:45 a.m. in the Council Chamber at the Charlotte Mecklenburg Government Center.
As the city continues to monitor these dynamic weather conditions, residents are being urged to please monitor the following communications vehicles for any updates:
CharMeck Alert Center: The latest information will be posted on city services and impacts to normal office hours that may affect the public.
CharMeck Alerts: Subscribe to receive emergency notifications that may impact your area.
NotifyMe: To receive employee-specific emergency notifications via email or text, you can subscribe to the NotifyMe service. It is recommended that you use a non-city email address to ensure delivery in the event the city network is impacted during an emergency.
GOV Channel: Live stream the city government channel online or tune in to cable 16 or digital 97-2. Live tickers will display the latest weather or emergency information.
Social media: Follow city on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
Local media: Any closures or delay information will be submitted to media immediately.
Residents are also asked to call 311 for questions related to city and county services or to report icy road conditions. Emergencies and accidents should be called in to 911.
