FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – January 3, 2018

The Charlotte Department of Transportation’s Street Maintenance Division (SMD) crews started brine operations to treat bridges and culverts this afternoon. While precipitation is not expected in Charlotte, this is a precautionary measure since temperatures have remained below freezing. Staff will continue to monitor conditions with crews ready to respond if road conditions change overnight.

Citizens should report icy road conditions by calling CharMeck 311. Actual emergencies and accidents should be called in to 911.
